With 103 wins and 104 pole positions, Hamilton is the most successful driver in F1 history. Michael Schumacher is the only driver with seven world titles, having won seven World Championships.

Hamilton, who joined Mercedes from McLaren in 2013 and has won six world titles with the team, hasn’t won a race since December 2021.

This year, he was initially with Ferrari, but during the past summer, Lewis Hamilton signed a new two-year contract with Mercedes, keeping him with George Russell until the end of 2025.

And what does Lewis Hamilton do to stay on top of his game this season? Surely, following in the footsteps of the legendary Michael Schumacher over the past few years, can he clinch his eighth World Championship title? Hamilton is now 39 years old. This could be his final chance to drive for Ferrari. He expressed happiness about ending his career with Mercedes, with whom he has achieved so much.

He mentioned that his idol, Ayrton Senna, never drove for Ferrari, and for that reason alone, you can have an iconic career without driving for them.

In 2025, he will be with Ferrari, a team that has quietly been in the shadow of Mercedes in recent years but is far from the Red Bull scenario.

Having initiated his Formula One journey with McLaren in 2007, Hamilton has had various connections with Ferrari over the years.

Slater links Norris’ McLaren contract to Ferrari signing Leclerc and Sainz. Speculation brews as Hamilton’s move to Ferrari seemed anticipated for months. Other teams were aware that their prize asset could be heading to Mercedes.

Slater observes challenges at Mercedes in promoting reserve driver Frederik vesta. He hints at Mick Schumacher as a potential solution despite a tough F1 start. The question lingers: Can Schumacher be the stop-gap Mercedes needs?

Alex Albon , in Slater’s opinion, might be a heavyweight signing for Mercedes instead of Hamilton.
